Criteria for choosing a power supply for LED
It’s easy to choose a power supply; it essentially has two parameters for a household user: current and voltage. With drivers, everything is somewhat more complicated. They are divided into two relatively large groups: “unlimited” (within the total power) and for a certain number of diodes. The former are obviously cheaper, since slightly simpler components can be used for a small number of LEDs.
The LED power supply is selected according to the marking of your lamp and the electrical compatibility of its connector. Driver selection should be done more carefully. In order for your lamps to work much longer, you need to buy both the driver and diodes as a set. You can also purchase it separately, but in this case the lifespan of the LED strip may decrease.
When purchasing all equipment, users often confuse current parameters. It's a matter of correctly assessing the operating range. If the LED is marked 350 mA, this is the maximum current at which the element can operate for a certain time and not fail. In fact, you need to take a driver with slightly lower parameters, with a current of 300-330 mA. Increasing the voltage and current may not be disastrous, but it significantly reduces working time. For an LED strip with a driver, even an expensive one, like Armstrong, this mode is unacceptable.
